‘Poetic License’ Taken for 2006 Poetry Fest Theme
Monday, March 27, 2006

Reported by Jake Weber

ALBION, Mich. –  In celebration of National Poetry Month, Albion College’s Stockwell-Mudd Libraries indulge in some “Poetic License.” The seventh annual Poetry Fest takes place Tuesday, April 4, from 3 p.m. until approximately 4:30 p.m. in Stockwell Library’s Wendell B. Will Room.

Participants are encouraged to read a favorite poem, recite original poetry, or just listen and enjoy. The program is open format, so that participants may come late and/or leave early. The Poetry Fest “grand finale” will once again feature a campus “celebrity couple.” Door prizes and refreshments round out the festivities.

"This year's theme emphasizes the spontaneous quality of our Poetry Fest," said librarian Marion Meilaender.  "There is always a great range of mood, style, and subject, since the gathering is wide open to the campus and the community."

Poetry Fest is free and the public is encouraged to attend and participate. For more information, contact Meilaender at mmeilaender@albion.edu or (517) 629-0499.
