       Medievalist Faire Debuts in Albion
Monday, April 3, 2006

Reported by Heather Horobik, ’06

ALBION, Mich. – Want a break from the twenty-first century? Step back in time and sample some medieval entertainment and food. The Albyonne Medievalist Society invites members of the community to participate in their Spring Faire on Sunday, April 9, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the second floor of the College’s Kellogg Center.

The Medieval Faire offers many fun opportunities to learn more about medieval culture. “The society wanted to try something new this semester,” explained senior Megan Carroll, Seneschal for the Medievalist Society. “We decided to do our own version of a Renaissance Faire with games, food, a chain mail demonstration, and free dance lessons, along with other activities. Our goal for this project was to come up with fun activities for people of all ages. The Faire offers the society a chance to share our knowledge with people whether they come for an hour or spend the whole day with us.”

Admission to this event is free, but medieval food will be sold for a small fee. For more information contact Megan Carroll via email at mec12@albion.edu or call (517) 629-1085.
