Albion College Eco Club Sponsors
Flea Market on Campus Monday, April 17, 2006 Reported by Jake Weber ALBION, Mich. — Community bargain-hunters will have a field day from 1 to 4 p.m. this Sunday, April 23, as Albion College’s Ecological Awareness (Eco) Club sponsors a community-wide flea market on the Campus Quadrangle (rain location: Kellogg Center). Everything from A-line skirts to zebra-striped pillows will be offered for sale by student clubs and community members. “The main goal of this flea market is to encourage recycling and reusing of things that students might otherwise throw out,” said Eco Club member Andrew Leinart. “We believe a flea market will provide a fun and practical outlet for students to clean out their dorms for the summer and cut down on waste.” Eco Club is also accepting donated items for their own flea market sales. Funds raised by the Eco Club will support Eco Club’s participation in the Adopt-A-Highway and/or Adopt-A-Tree programs. Community members are welcome to participate as vendors, but must register for a spot by Thursday, April 29. To donate items to the Eco Club sale, register for a seller’s table, or for more information, contact Leinart at atl10@albion.edu or 517/629-1619. .
