       Senior Dan Coupland Presents Baritone Recital

ALBION, Mich. — Ann Arbor senior Daniel Coupland will perform a senior voice recital on Monday, April 24, at 8 p.m. in the College’s Goodrich Chapel.

Coupland, a baritone, performs two arias from Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, three romantic songs by Johannes Brahms, Gabriel Fauré’s Poème d’un Jour,, and Let Us Garlands Bring by Gerald Finzi a setting of some of Shakespeare’s poems.

“All of these pieces have a different love story,” said Coupland of his program. The various pieces describe true love, false love, the end of love and the absence of a lover. “The last work uses Shakespearean texts for lyrics,” Coupland concluded. “It should be a wonderful finale to a set of beautifully romantic music that every couple would enjoy.”
