Science Center Complex Taking Shape
December 7, 2004

The skyline of Albion College (such as it is) is changing, as the science complex construction continues.  Spaces inside are beginning to take shape with built-in details, and the Palenske rooftop observatory gleams silver even on a cloudy day.

"We’ve had a few little problems with the weather and getting the roof on the new structure and Palenske," admits Dale Dopp, vice president for finance and management and one of the supervisors of the project.  "But we'll finish the project right on time."

Dopp notes that his enthusiasm for the complex is growing as he watches the construction.  "It’s going to be a magnificent building and complex.  The atrium is going to add such a wonderful dimension to the project, tying all the buildings together and becoming a common space to the campus as a whole, a place where the entire campus can be involved in science."

The photos on this page were taken during November, 2004.
