Green Day Fair Kicks Off Year of Sustainability
By Jake Weber
Music, canoeing and information on other earth-friendly are all part of the fun for Albion College's Green Day fair, this year moving to the College's Whitehouse Nature Center. The event takes place Wednesday, April 14, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
"We hope the change of venue will encourage everyone to take advantage of the 144 acres of the Whitehouse Nature Center," said student organizer Pryce Hadley. He noted that a number of information displays will be set up in the Interpretive Center, on everything from "the proposed Albion College Student Farm to a group offering use of canoes and kayaks, and musicians including English professor Nels Christiansen, Jordan Putnam and Zaak & Zane Havens."
As part of its strategic plan, Albion College has named the 2010-11 academic year as its Sustainability theme year. Information on activities and initiatives for the year will be shared as part of Green Day.
