1991 Class Notes

Douglas Armstead, ’91, teaches for the Gerrish-Higgins School District, where he teaches six choirs at the Roscommon High School and Middle School. He is also music director for the local Methodist Church and directs a community choir. Douglas was elected to the boards of the Michigan School Vocal Music Association (MSVMA) and the American Choral Directors Association. His choirs have been selected to perform at the Michigan Music Conference, and he was elected to direct the MSVMA High School SATB State Honors Choir next year. He lives in Roscommon.

Reed Barich, ’91, is vice president of sales and marketing for National Trade Supply, LLC. The company was recognized by the Indianapolis Business Journal as the fastest-growing company in Indianapolis for 2006. He lives in Fishers, IN.

Scott McFarland, ’91, is the new president and chief executive officer of Berrien Teachers Credit Union. He has more than 18 years of credit union experience, including the last 10 years at United Federal Credit Union. Scott has also worked as chief executive officer of Saginaw County Employees Credit Union. He is a volunteer with the Buchanan Lions Club and Junior Achievement and also volunteers as a coach. Scott is involved with his church in Berrien Springs. He and his wife, Beth, have four children and live in Berrien Springs.

Jim Pittaro, ’91, is a full-time radio personality for 100.7 The Bay, Baltimore’s classic rock station. He performs under the stage name of Randy Rock Johnson. Jim previously worked for 16 years doing rock radio in Harrisburg, PA, 10 of which were at 93.5 WTPA, The Rock, of central Pennsylvania. While in Pennsylvania, he did a three-year stint as the public address announcer for the Hershey Bears, the minor league affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals. Beverly Lucas Propst, ’91, was promoted to vice president of human resources at Graybar Electric Co. in April 2008. Graybar is a Fortune 500 wholesale distributor headquartered in Clayton, MO. She previously served as senior corporate counsel in charge of employment and litigation matters in the legal department at Graybar. She and her husband, Todd, have three children and live in O’Fallon, IL.
