Lauren Daniels, '16, Designs New Art for President's Home
A brand-new piece of student art has become an instant historic detail of the Albion College President's Home at 501 East Michigan Avenue. Designed by Lauren Daniels, '16, and created by Kalamazoo-based stained glass artist Lee Klade, two transom windows have been mounted in an interior archway on the second-floor landing of the home, which was fully restored this summer.
Myers, '15, Explores Health-Care Innovation at MidMichigan Health
"Hospitals that stay the most current with the changing industry are also the most successful," writes Matt Myers, '15, who completed an internship this summer at MidMichigan Health's MidMichigan Medical Center-Gratiot. "Much of this innovation comes from large multibillion-dollar, urban-based institutions. The issue at hand [at Gratiot] is to provide quality care to a rural community faced with different medical needs."
For Samson, '15, Career Options Run Wide After Green-Tech Project
As an Albion College senior cross country runner, Michelle Samson is used to taking a few turns on the course en route to the finish line. Albion College Piano Festival 2014
Adjudicated by Kevin Chance and Edmund Battersby
Opening recitals in Goodrich Chapel:
Edmund Battersby - Nov. 5 at 7:30 pm
Kevin Chance - Nov. 6 at 7:30 pm
The Albion College Piano Festival began in the fall of 2008. It was inspired by the memory of Vera Reed, an Albion resident and piano teacher who taught into her nineties and played even later in her life. While there is a competition element, and students can compete for cash prizes, it is our hope that students will find this festival to be more about performing, meeting and hearing other students, and taking lessons/master classes from Albion Faculty and guest artists. In other words, we view this festival as educational first and foremost.
2 Piano Concerto / Piano Duo / Piano Four-Hands
