Jeffrey Ott graduated from Albion College in 1986, where he majored in Economics and Management, and also German. He was a member of the Gerald R. Ford Institute for Leadership in Public Policy and Service. Upon graduation, he attended the University of Michigan where he earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence. Mr. Ott is currently a partner and practices law with Warner Norcross & Judd LLP, specializing in securities, banking, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate law. Mr. Ott has represented large publicly traded and privately held companies, including: Chemical Financial Corporation; Firth Third Bancorp and Old Kent Financial Corporation; Spartan Stores, Inc.; Wolverine World Wide, Inc.; Guardsman Products, Tnc.; Haworth, lnc.; Howard Miller Clock Company; and Traxys North America.
For his successful career in law, Mr. Ott has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America for Banking and Finance Law and Financial Services Regulation Law, was named Best Lawyers in America's 2013 Grand Rapids Financial Services Regulation Lawyer of the Year, and was named to Michigan Super Lawyers in 2010.

Lawrence B. Schook, '72

Education: Albion College, 1972. Wayne State University, Master of Science and Ph.D,. Institute for Clinical Immunology, Switzerland and University of Michigan, Postdoctoral Training.
Lawrence Schook graduated from Albion College in 1973. He continued his studies earning his Master’s and Ph.D from Wayne State University, then completed his postdoctoral training at the Institute for Clinical Immunology in Switzerland, and at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He currently serves as Vice President for Research, Senior Officer and Professor of Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois, serves on the Board of Governors for the Argonne and Fermi National Laboratories, and the National Academies of Science Institute for Laboratory Animal Research.
In addition to his successful academic studies, Mr. Schook has held several faculty positions in a number of institutions. In his current position at the University of Illinois, Mr. Schook is responsible for $1B in external research funding, and is recognized internationally in comparative genomics to further understanding of genetic diseases. He has also held appointments in bioengineering, nutritional sciences, and pathology. Mr. Schook has written over 200 published documents and edited six books.
His Albion College involvement includes: Men's Basketball, Sigma Nu, Student Senate, Admissions Volunteer, Past Class Agent, DAA Winner, 1997 Externship Mentor, Mentor Program Volunteer and National Volunteer Network.

Samuel J. Shaheen, MD, graduated from Albion College in 1988. Upon graduation, he continued his education, earning his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Michigan in 1992. He finished his residency training at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. Dr. Shaheen currently serves as Professor of Surgery and Vice Chair of Surgical Disciplines for CMU College of Medicine in Saginaw, Michigan.
